WOW! That dress tho…
When I designed the print for this dress I was so scared it would be “too much” but I’m so happy I went with my gut feeling. When my cousin and I went to take some shots we were stopped almost at every corner with: “WOW! I LOVE your dress!” Women would compliment the lively coral wash which coincidentally is the 2019 color of the year (I had NO clue lol).
The flow of the dress is so hard to depict but fortunately for us when we went out to take pictures the wind was on our side. Needless to say, this dress FLOWS. It’s truly fit for a princess of any body structure. The cut and sleeves are so flattering and the high neck makes it so versatile.
I’m a curvy woman. It’s hard to find clothing that I feel comfortable and beautiful in at the same time. Most clothing is made for a specific body type leaving some of us mamacitas in pure neglect. It’s important to have someone understand our bodies. WE DESERVE inclusivity.
There was this one comment that I got when I first shared this dress “It’s a quirky but fun look! Great job! It’s awesome to be able to rock this as a curvy woman without looking like my nana.” LOL that was so cool. And it’s most definitely the point. Muslim women have been forced to dress like their nana because there aren’t that many brands that spice it up. Where’s the representation of the expressive western society Muslimah? Modesty doesn’t mean “not fun”. A woman can be quirky, colorful, elegant, and still be able to hide her goodies and retain her modesty.
This dress screams: “Yeah I’m modest and also full of life”
This number in a nutshell
Beautiful coral A-line empire princess cut. Fully lined throughout. Has flattering bubble sleeves and a high neck collar with delicate ruffles. Small printed hearts (they look like polka dots from far away) give this piece such cute yet fun touch. It’s like a fresh sorbet in the spring. Flowy skirt makes you feel like a true royal. Zips on back with hidden zip and two pearl buttons on the neck.
